Manitouwadge is now recognized as the Canadian pilot location for the English as a Second Language institution Superior Preparatory Academy.
A memorandum of understanding was signed by Manitouwadge Mayor John MacEachern and Canadabridge Education Inc. at a town council meeting, March 31.
The agreement outlines plans to make the community a temporary home for Chinese students while they prepare for the English for Academic Purposes program at Confederation College in Thunder Bay.
While studying, students are expected to become active, contributing members of Manitouwadge by participating outside of their regular school programs.
