Long-serving councillors receive award

Two Northern municipal councillors have received the 25-year Long-Standing Service Award from the province. Coun. Earl Read from the Village of Thornloe and Coun. Dan Wark of Hilliard Twp.

Two Northern municipal councillors have received the 25-year Long-Standing Service Award from the province.

Coun. Earl Read from the Village of Thornloe and Coun. Dan Wark of Hilliard Twp. Were both recognized for their years of service as elected officials.

Read has served in Thornloe since 1974 and is a member of the Temiskaming Municipal Association and chair of Community Pastures for the past 10 years.

Wark is a full-time dairy farmer and has served on council since 1985. He has sat on many communities including the Temiskaming Veterinary Committee and Waste Disposal Committee.
