Joining the board is Gianflavio Carozzi, corporate treasurer for Hochschild Mining Plc, a title he's held since joining the company in 2007. Prior to that, Carozzi served as manager of global FX and commodities at General Motors' Treasurer's Office in New York from 2003 to 2007. He also served in a variety of finance-related roles for Nextel Peru between 2000 and 2001.

Departing Lake Shore Gold's board are Sethu Raman, Michael Winn and Wayne O'Connor, who did not stand for re-election at the company's annual meeting.

Ignacio Rosado has also left the board after resigning as chief financial officer of Hochschild.
