The Ontario government is investing $692,500 for upgrades to the road and waste water system into the new Canadore College campus in Parry Sound.

The money comes from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund's Infrastructure and Community Development Program. The project will create 24 construction jobs.

Construction of the campus is already underway and classes will begin in September.

“These infrastructure improvements will accommodate the new college campus and help create jobs in the region,” said Northern Development, Mines and Forestry Minister Michael Gravelle in a Dec. 13 statement. “It will also create new opportunities for community growth to meet the post-secondary needs of area residents, including First Nations.”
