FedNor is dropping $511,000 on two initiatives in the Thunder Bay area. The rural municipality of Oliver Paipoonge received $360,000 to expand its Rubin Business Park.

FedNor is dropping $511,000 on two initiatives in the Thunder Bay area.

The rural municipality of Oliver Paipoonge received $360,000 to expand its Rubin Business Park. The money will cover the costs of engineering, servicing costs and to build a road to access 10 new commercial lots. A marketing study will help attract new tenants.

The City of Thunder Bay is receiving $151,000 to carry out a marketing strategy to drive international web traffic to the Northwestern Ontario Immigration Portal.

It's a regional project, launched in 2010, that showcases 32 communities to attract global talent and entrepreneurial investment.
