Four Northern Ontario companies are in the running to receive a provincial award for apprenticeship training.
Con's Electric Company of Timmins, Elliot Lake Ford, Mining Technologies International of North Bay and Toromont CAT of Thunder Bay are among 16 nominees announced May 25 by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
The annual Minister's Awards for Apprenticeship Training celebrates employers that show leadership in training and promote careers in the skilled trades.
Four Ontario winners will be announced in June.
“Through their dedication to training apprentices, these exceptional employers are making an important contribution to Ontario's economy as well as their own businesses,” said John Milloy, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, in a statement.
