Timmins is the next stop on the circuit for Cliffs Natural Resources to present its mine, transportation and ferrochrome processing project.
As part of its environmental assessment process, Cliffs is hosting a Dec. 12 open house in the McIntyre Ballroom in Schumacher.
Cliffs and its project consultants will be available to answer questions and gather public feedback.
Timmins, along with Thunder Bay, Sudbury and Greenstone have made it into the Ohio miner's short-list to process chromite ore from its Black Thor deposit in the James Bay lowlands. A final decision on the site selection could come early next year.
