Flakeboard Company donates to college capital campaign

Flakeboard Company in Sault Ste. Marie has pledged $32,500 towards Sault College ’s capital campaign. Funds from the campaign go towards student scholarships and bursaries and campus enhancements.

“Flakeboard has been a part of our community for over 18 years and has always believed in giving back. We are proud to support Sault College through its Inspiring Growth Campaign and through student scholarships and bursaries,” said Lloyd Hotchkiss, a Flakeboard employee who is also a Sault College graduate and Premier’s Award nominee, in a news release. “We appreciate the benefits the college brings to the community as well as providing a skilled workforce for local business.”

The campaign, the most significant in the school’s history, aims to raise $6 million.

“The support of our partners, industry and communities is essential to our success as an educational institution,” said campaign chair Jim Boniferro in the release. “In countless ways, the generous support of our donors will create opportunities for advancing education and enhancing the learning experience of our students. We are grateful that Flakeboard recognizes the important role Sault College plays in our community.”
