First Nickel Inc. has hired Thomas M. Boehlert as its new president and CEO. Boehlert will replace William Anderson, who is retiring.
It was additionally announced that Boehlert has made a $500,000 common share private placement in the company, and will serve as a director.
Through his 28-year career, Boehlert has gained extensive experience with international natural resource and energy companies in optimizing operations and executing growth strategies. He most recently served as chief financial officer and executive vice-president of Kinross Gold Corp.

Pugsley commended Anderson for attracting major shareholders and securing equity and debt to finance the restart of production at First Nickel's Lockerby Mine.
Anderson will remain in a consulting role for six months in order to facilitate a smooth transition of the position.
