The airport's business park project received $2 million to provide servicing to 120 acres of land earmarked for incoming aviation and industrial clients expected to be announced later this summer and fall.

The NECO Community Futures Development Corporation received $1.1 million to supplys loans and equity financing for its small business clients.

FedNor is also sending $364,000 to NECO to showcase Northern agricultural products at an exhibit at next fall's Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.

The Canadian Ecology Centre in nearby Mattawa is getting $210,000 to help with the development of a 2,400-square-foot multi-purpose facility.

Blue Sky Net landed $175,000 for an e-business and marketing program geared to help 30 small and medium-sized businesses expand and enhance their websites with e-business applications.

The municipality of Powassan will use $45,000 with the development of a new strategic plan to identify new economic development opportunities, including a potential industrial park.

FedNor is also setting aside $137,500 to fund placements for five of its youth interns at Nipissing University, the Canadian Institute of Forestry, the City of Temiskaming Shores and Innovation Initiatives Ontario North.
