Brigus Gold Corp.'s exploration drilling at its Black Fox Complex near Matheson have returned high-grade assays.
The most recent results, a press release states, confirm a new gold zone. All four drill rigs currently operating on the property are active and a fifth will be added in early May.
“These impressive results confirm that the (zone) is a new high-grade gold discovery for the company,” said Brigus CEO and President Wade K. Dawein the release. “We are now focusing exploration drilling efforts in this area and look forward to receiving additional assay results as drilling progresses.”
The company operates the wholly-owned Black Fox Mine and adjoining properties, as well as the Black Fox Mill in the Black River-Matheson Twp. Area.
Earlier this spring, a new 1.1 kilomtere ramp leading from surface to the 235 metre underground level was completed. Its mill is expected to operate 2,000 tonnes per day with feed coming from both the underground and an open pit.
