The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) has contributed $10,000 to establish an annual bursary for engineering technology students at Cambrian College.
The donation was matched by the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS), and OACETT is now working to grow the endowment fund to $40,000 to sustain a $1,000 annual award in perpetuity. The endowment is part of OACETT’s broader capital campaign to celebrate 25 years of OACETT’s bursary program by endowing 25 funds at 25 colleges across Ontario.
“We are very proud to partner with Cambrian College and we look forward to working with the college to grow this bursary fund,” said Richard Stamper, OACETT’s business development manager, in a news release. “This investment in student support will cultivate home-grown expertise to meet local and global demands for engineering technology professionals now and into the future.”
The $1,000 will be awarded to one full-time Cambrian College student enrolled in year one, two or three of an OACETT-recognized engineering or applied science technology program who best exemplifies the key precepts related to integrity and professionalism in the practice of engineering technology.
