A dewatering company has opened a new branch in Northern Ontario, strategically located in Sudbury to serve the mining sector.
Aquatech Dewatering Company and Aquatech Pump and Power opened the doors to their new facility on May 1st. The company provides pumps for everything from open-pit mine dewatering and pond drainage to the temporary bypass of water distribution systems.
In a news release, the company indicated that environmental regulations and more challenging requirements have resulted in a surge in demand for specialized pumping and dewatering services from the mining industry.
“We chose the Sudbury location to provide immediate equipment rental and sales and full service support to the mining sector throughout Northern Ontario, and to support our ongoing business with municipal, industrial and construction clients, including emergency response,” Aquatech president Andy Ingriselli said in the release.
“This location complements our existing operations from satellite locations throughout the region, and it now allows us to offer our full suite of key specialty services, including emergency pumping, dewatering, bypass pumping, environmental mitigation and dredging services.”
The new facility encompasses 2,000 square feet of office space, an additional 10,000 square feet of shop area, and two acres of outdoor equipment storage space.
This is the company's third full-service branch in Ontario. In addition to the headquarters in Concord, Aquatech maintains an eastern Ontario branch in Ottawa.
