With construction underway at its $1.2-billion Detour Lake project, Detour Gold is planning on a $14-million exploration program for the site in 2011.
This program is targeting five areas, including the western extension of the Detour Lake deposit, where 50,000 metres will be drilled at a 40-metre-by-40-metre spacing to potentially define additional reserves.
The Sunday Lake property saw a 60-line-kilometre survey in January, which is due to be followed by a minimum of 2,500 metres of core drilling.
Nearly 5,000 samples will taken from the Lower Detour Deformation Zone, where a 60-line-kilometre survey will also be conducted. Following this work, several targets will be drill-tested.
The western end of the Detour Lake property will also see a 75-line-kilometre survey.
In a 50-per-cent joint venture with Trade Winds Ventures Inc., Block A will have 30,000 metres of drilling to infill the M Zone pit shell at a 40-metre-by-40-metre spacing, and to test several other targets.
