North Bay's Labour Market Group has re-elected Derek Shogren as its business co-chair at its recent board of directors' meeting.

The manager of the North Bay Canadian Tire outlet shares the title with Ernie Giroux of Atlas Copco. Canadore College's Darrin Caron was elected treasurer while Teletech's Joe Daniel and Angie Rubino, a Co-op teacher, were elected members-at-large.

The five-member executive committee, comprising local business and labour representatives, all serve one-year terms.

"This is an exciting and challenging time for our local board," said Andrea Stoppa, executive assistant of the Labour Market Group. "We are fortunate to have the guidance of an elected leadership with the experience and varied sector representation that we have on our executive committee."

The Labour Market Group is one of 21 boards across Ontario that operate as non-profit organizations and engage the North Bay, Nipissing and Parry Sound communities in a labour market planning process.
