Chief Operating Officer of QuadraFNX Mining Ltd. Michael Winship will address Greater Sudbury chamber members and industry colleagues on Thursday, March 31, regarding the company's operations and potential growth.
Over his 30 years in mine development, operations, and corporate management, Winship has been involved with more than 20 mines in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, the U.S., and Canada.
“This is important because it allows our members, and the broader members of the community, to get an idea of what's going on in relative to the mining industry,” said Jonathan Laderoute, communications manager for Greater Sudbury's Chamber of Commerce.
The event will mark the first time the company will speak to the community since Quadra merged with Sudbury-based mining company FNX in May of 2010, according to Laderoute.
“So he's now here to talk about where they're going forward with how the economy will play out and where they want to invest.”
Winship was previously President and COO of Hudbay Minerals Inc, and Senior Vice President and COO of PT International Nickel Tbk.
The event will take place at the Holiday Inn on Regent Street from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
