Thirty additional youth will have an opportunity for internships and job placements in Sault Ste. Marie, following a funding announcement from the province.
Under the Youth Internship and Co-op Program, the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp. is providing employers with $573,451 to enable them to host area youth to gain practical work experience.
Employers offering youth internships include Fibrestick MFG Ltd. and KPMG.
Since launching the program in 2005, the Ontario government has provided more than $4.9 million for 277 placements in Sault Ste. Marie.
