With the snow set to fly, the Ontario government is touting the near-completion of 91 highway projects across Northern Ontario.
In the northwest, 494 kilometres of highway were repaved and nine bridges were fixed or replaced. It inclues 49 kilometres of Highway 11 near Fort Frances and Geraldton, and 54 kilometres of Highway 17 in the Vermilion Bay, Upsala and Marathon area.
In the northeast, 59 projects are near completion with 459 kilometres repaved and 56 bridges fixed or replaced. Most notable is expanding a 17-kilometre four-lane section of Highway 69 in the Parry Sound area and replacing the Frederick House Bridge near Cochrane.
