Room is being set aside at the Water Garden Pavilion for a minimum of 2,300 square foot of inside space, plus an additional 1,000-square-feet of outdoor patio.

The venue will offer panoramic views of Lake Superior and the Sleeping Giant peninsula.

“We are creating mixed-use areas that include a complimentary blend of residences, commercial and retail space, and public spaces for all to enjoy,” said Greg Alexander, the city's community services general manager. “There are some great opportunities for the private and non-profit sectors to get involved.”

The pavilion will have public washrooms, change facilities and a warm-up room for nearby recreational activities such as skating, a splash pad, skate boarding and boating.

A 120-room hotel, 104 condominiums and a proposed market building are also slated for the waterfront property.
