The Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI) in Sudbury has established an Innovation and Prosperity Office that will liaise with small and medium enterprises to help develop their innovative ideas and bring them to market.
The ultimate goal is to expand the economic activity in the mining supply and services sector in Sudbury. The initiative is being supported by the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation.
Through the program, companies can gain access to a quick review of their ideas, links to industry, global partners, and seed funding. CEMI also offers assurances of lower investor risk and access to seminars, training and published findings.
CEMI notes that it does not retain intellectual property, and will ensure the confidentiality of the business.
