Canadore College received strong industry support at its third Thinking Forward Symposium on March 2, where business leaders discussed progressive industry trends with a focus on both community and global direction.

Invitees and College representatives had the opportunity to discuss the vital changes needed within sector operations and environments to promote health, sustainability, growth and continued success.

"Canadore is dedicated to being responsive to industry needs," said Canadore President George Burton in a press release. "Our goal is to better understand how the College can support local businesses to achieve greater success and our connection with industry helps us to build a strong Canadore and an even stronger community."

This event was the last of three summits planned for the year.

More than 80 business people and Canadore administrators have participated in the Thinking Forward Symposium events held over the last three months.

Earlier this month, the College announced funding approval from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities for two new programs for the Fall 2011 semester.

Civil Engineering Technician and Mobile Application Development will be added to the long list of programs for the College.

Canadore is also expecting to receive MTCU approval for an additional two programs in the near future with Financial Services Certificate and Rural Recreation Certificate.

The College will also be hosting three additional events this fall.
