Four of the top graduates from Cambrian College's Aboriginal community were included in the select group of 100 post-secondary graduates from across Canada who attended the Inclusion Works 2010 conference in Toronto, the nation's largest employment and human resources event for Aboriginals.

Organized by the Aboriginal Human Resource Council, the event ran at the Westin Harbour Castle from April 25-29. It allowed participants to participate in professional development workshops, network with government and industry representatives, and listen to keynote speakers such as Shawn Atleo, national chief to the Assembly of First Nations, and former Prime Minister Paul Martin.

Attendees were also pre-selected for interviews with potential employers as a means of providing them with the opportunity to find employment with some of Canada's biggest companies.

"I had the opportunity to meet, interview, and network with employers from across the nation, most of whom were looking to recruit and hire aboriginal students to be a part of their team," said Ruby Cooper, graduate of Cambrian's civil engineering technician program, in a release.

Cooper, who landed a summer job with SNC Lavalin, was joined at the conference by fellow Cambrian graduates Craig Jackson, Lorraine Giroux and Georgette MacDonald.
