An all-day mining event at Cambrian College will offer some insight into the mining sector by industry experts, states a Feb. 23 press release.
On March 2, students from Cambrian College, Laurentian University and Collège Boréal will attend the all-day event. It will take place at the Koski Centre from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Lead organizer and Stantec consultant Bruce Lang said students will have the opportunity to learn more about their future trade, the issues facing the industry and how they can get involved.
Speakers include Alex Gryska, manager of Ontario Mine Rescue, Tom Ormsby, DeBeers Canada external and corporate affairs director, along with other industry representatives.
Networking opportunities will be available at a post-session reception.
