CAE acquires Sudbury's Century Systems Technologies Inc.

Sudbury's Century Systems Technologies Inc. was acquired by CAE Inc., a Montreal-based company that provides simulation, modelling and training for the civil aviation industry and defence forces.

Sudbury's Century Systems Technologies Inc. was acquired by CAE Inc., a Montreal-based company that provides simulation, modelling and training for the civil aviation industry and defence forces.

Century Systems is a Sudbury-based software company that provides data management solutions for the mining and exploration industries.

It will become part of CAE Mining, along with The Datamine Group, a previous CAE acquisition. CAE Mining will provide technology and services to plan, manage and optimize mining operations throughout the world.

“The Century Systems software technology is a perfect fit for CAE Mining's approach to data management, governance and quality control requirements in the mining industry,” Nick Beaton, president of CAE Mining, said in a Jan. 19 press release.

Ray Auger, president of Century Systems, said CAE's R & D programs will ensure the sustainability and growth of his company and its products for existing and future customers. CAE Inc. has 60 years of experience, employs more than 7,500 people at more than 100 sites and training locations in more than 20 countries.
