Collège Boréal is teaming up with the Centre technologique des résidus industriels (CTRI) [Technological Centre for Industrial Waste] on what is being described as a “long-term environmental collaboration.”

According to a news release, “The expertise developed by Collège Boréal through its Xstrata Nickel Biodiversity Applied Research Centre and its experimental forest thus merges with the knowledge of the CRTI, an organization specializing in the recovery of waste from the forest, mining and agricultural sectors.”

"The sharing of our knowledge and facilities is particularly promising for the ecosystems of our respective communities as well as for our students," said Marc Hébert, co-ordinator of Collège Boréal's natural resources programs, in the release.

CTRI is affiliated with Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue, which offers programming in mining and forestry, as well as social, technical, industrial and communications professions.
