While Zenyatta Resources is engaged in mediation between the Constance Lake First Nation and the Ontario government, its northwestern Ontario base metals exploration program is underway.
The Thunder Bay junior miner is working its Albany project west and north of Hearst looking for large copper, nickel and platinum group metal deposits.
In a June 28 release, Zenyatta said it has started a drill program in March on this largely ignored area to test several high priority magnetic and electromagnetic geophysical targets.
This area has characterized by extensive rock cover and overburden which has posed an obstacle to exploration in the past. But recent advances in airborne geophysical technology has allowed for deeper penetration through cover rocks to give miners at better understanding of the geological structure.
Meanwhile, Zenyatta has been engaged in a three-way mediation progress since May 24 involving a Superior Court Justice. A motion for injunction relief by Constance Lake in an Ontario Superior Court was adjourned while a newly elected chief and council review a mediated proposal. If the parties do not accept a settlement, the motion for an interim injunction will be argued in Ontario Superior Court.
