The Anishinabek Nation is seeking nominees for its awards of excellence.

Anishinabek Lifetime Achievement Awards are bestowed on Anishinabek citizens who have made a lifetime commitment to improving the quality of life on First Nations through hard work and dedication in the categories of arts, business, culture, education, environment, health, law/justice, political leadership, public service, communications, sports, and trades and technology.

In addition, one individual will be presented with the George Lanouette Memorial Award to recognize outstanding community development in the areas of First Nation government operations, human resource development, and/or infrastructure development.

The awards will be handed out during an evening gala in Sudbury on Aug. 21.

The deadline for submissions is May 31.
