Algoma University has signed a partnership agreement with the University of Finance-Marketing in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam which will promote the co-operation and exchange of teachers, researchers and students, as well as the exchange of academic materials, publications, and information.
“We are thrilled to have our first partnership with a university in Vietnam,” said Algoma University registrar Dave Marasco. “We welcome the delegation from the University of Finance-Marketing, and are pleased that they have had the chance to spend some time in Sault Ste. Marie to find out what our university and city have to offer.”
Representatives of the university, including rector Dr. Minh Cu Luong and the former governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Duy Gia Nuygen, spent four days touring Sault Ste. Marie, including Algoma's campus, where they signed a memorandum of understanding to initiate the collaborative partnership.
The University of Finance-Marketing is a training arm of the country's Ministry of Finance, completing scientific research, as well as professional training and management technology, in the fields of economy, finance and banking, marketing, business administration, accounting, management information systems and foreign languages.
