Air Canada has expanded its service at the Greater Sudbury Airport, providing five daily return flights between Toronto and Sudbury.
The Air Canada Express Q400 service began on Nov. 1 and travels between Sudbury and the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
“Air Canada is very pleased to be able to offer our Sudbury Air Canada Express customers the latest in passenger comfort,” said Lisa Pierce, Air Canada's senior director for regional airlines, in a news release. “It is a large aircraft, capable of carrying 74 passengers, meaning more head room and overhead bin space, and its advanced noise suppression technology results in a very quiet flight.”
Under the new schedule, flights depart Toronto at 8:40 a.m., 12:05 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 10:25 p.m. Flights depart Sudbury at 6 a.m., 10:10 a.m., 1:40 p.m., 4:45 p.m., and 8:05 p.m.
To accommodate the new schedule, Air Canada anticipates using the Q400 planes on three daily trips and using Dash 8 aircraft at other times of the day.
