A FedNor funding frenzy

Community halls, rinks and rec centres across Northern Ontario are receiving funding from FedNor's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund. The North Bay YMCA received $90,000 for renovations to the public change rooms.

The Wakenagun Community Futures Development Corporation in Moose Factory on the James Bay Coast received its annual allotment of $320,000 in operating capital to provide capital and business counselling services to small and medium-sized businesses.

The Municipality of Greenstone in northwestern Ontario will receive $125,000 to replace the ice pads at its arena and curling club with a single high-efficiency system.
The Municipality of Huron Shores, west of Sudbury, receives $48,015 to refurbish and complete upgrades to its Ward 4 Recreation Centre.

The Municipality of St. Charles, east of Sudbury, will receive $50,000 to replace the roof and siding on its community centre.

The Manitoulin Island town of Gore Bay receives $142,915 for upgrades to its community hall that will include improved access for persons with disabilities, heating and lighting enhancements, and renovations to its kitchen.
