Sault Ste. Marie MPP David Orazietti delivered two cheques to the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre of almost $1.2 million to develop two projects.

The Algoma Rural Agri-Innovation Network (RAIN) received $989,000 to undertake a regional tile drainage project and $170,660 will go toward establishing a 6,000-square-foot business accelerator hub in the city’s downtown.

The money is coming through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.

“This funding is focusing on two sectors of the Sault economy by stimulating local agricultural opportunities and creating the right conditions for entrepreneurs to create new small businesses and local jobs,” said Orazietti in an April 22 news release.
