Federal funding is now available to assist local and regional businesses in attending Naturallia in Sault Ste. Marie later this month.

Eligible firms from Northern Ontario can apply for funding assistance through FedNor’s Innovation Accelerator Program.

Naturallia, taking place Oct. 28-30, is a business-to-business matchmaking event that will bring together businesses from across the North, the country and the globe to network and form new business partnerships. It will feature upwards of 150 companies from 14 countries that have expertise in the areas of smart energy, advanced manufacturing, value-added forest products, and mining supply and services.

“We’re confident that this new incentive will turn a great event into an even better one,” said Naturallia 2013 co-chair Tom Dodds, CEO of the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation, in a news release. “This is a prime opportunity for local and regional companies to form strategic partnerships with businesses around the world. With the recent incentive development, the registration deadline has been pushed back so we can spread the word to our area firms.”

The new deadline to register is Monday, Oct. 7.
