Porter Airlines moves into North Bay

Porter Airlines will soon be flying into North Bay. The company announced July 21 it would start offering daily flights between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and North Bay’s Jack Garland Airport in October.

Porter Airlines will soon offer service to North Bay, the fifth Northern Ontario city to be added to its service list.

Porter Airlines will soon be flying into North Bay.

The company announced July 21 it would start offering daily flights between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and North Bay’s Jack Garland Airport in October. A second route, featuring service between North Bay and Timmins, is also being introduced. Initial roundtrip prices are $238 for North Bay-Toronto and $220 for North Bay-Timmins.

“Over the last several years, we have grown our Ontario markets substantially by making it more affordable for people to fly,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines, in a news release. “North Bay is the eighth city we are serving in the province. This provides even more options for our passengers.” 

“We are pleased and excited to welcome Porter Airlines to our city,” stated North Bay Mayor Al McDonald in the release. “We believe in working with business partners to grow our city and this announcement today signals confidence that we are on the right track.”

Flights will operate on 74-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft. The schedule follows:

Toronto to North Bay: 11:50 a.m. departure, arrival at 12:40 p.m.

North Bay to Timmins: 1 p.m. departure, arrival at 1:45 p.m.

Timmins to North Bay: 2:20 p.m. departure, arrival at 3:05 p.m.

North Bay to Toronto: 3:30 p.m. departure, arrival at 4:20 p.m.

Weekend flight times vary.
