After a successful inaugural year in 2014, the North America Mining Expo in Sudbury expands to larger digs for this year’s show.
“We basically outgrew the Hanmer
facility,” said organizer Glenn Dredhart, president of Canadian
Tradex, which organizes the conference.
The expo, which runs
Aug. 19 and 20, will feature more than 300 exhibits at the McLelland
Arena in Copper Cliff.
More than 230 companies are exhibiting at the event with delegations coming from Australia, India, Chile, Peru and South Africa.
Dredhart said Sudbury's mining
technology expertise will be on full display during the event.
The
Northern Centre for Advanced Technology Inc. (NORCAT) will offer
tours to its underground mining technology testing centre in Onaping
during the week.
Sudbury mining supplier Tracks and
Wheels Equipment Brokers will have live demonstrations of its newest
equipment. Other events at the expo include a jack-leg drilling
competitions, welding competitions, and an Aboriginal pavilion.
