Kirkland Lake’s Nordex Explosives has signed a letter of intent with Privco, a strategic private company, to sell and distribute packaged explosives products, accessories and material in Western Canada.

The proposed deal is 50/50 joint venture corporation to be called Newco.

“This is an important milestone in the continued expansion and development of Nordex Explosives,” said company president Jim Taylor in a release.

The company said it’s the next phase of a growth plan to distribute its “Buttbuster” line of explosive products to mining and construction companies in that region.

The company isn’t disclosing its Western Canada location except to say it will be “strategically located relative to known high density mining and construction areas to maximize the potential client base.”
