Northern College and Saskatchewan’s Northlands College have signed an agreement to deliver the Haileybury School of Mines’ mining engineering technician program to the Prairies.
As the largest regional college in Saskatchewan, Northlands has a long history of providing training for the uranium mining industry.
Northlands has delivered this program in the past but only once every two years. This agreement is valid for seven years and will see six consecutive intakes of first-year students.
"Northlands is very pleased to be partnering with an institution that has a long and successful reputation as one of the premiere mine training institutions not only in the country but in the world," said Toby Greschner, Northlands College president.
“The programs available through the Haileybury School of Mines have set the standard not only for Canada, but for the world,” said Fred Gibbons, President of Northern College. “We’re pleased to be working with Northlands College to increase access to this world-renowned program.”
