Virtual conference set for April

The first annual Northern Ontario Leadership Conference (NOLC) will be hosted from April 2 through April 4 in the Northern Virtual Pavilion, the region’s first permanent virtual conference centre.

The first annual Northern Ontario Leadership Conference (NOLC) will be hosted from April 2 through April 4 in the Northern Virtual Pavilion, the region’s first permanent virtual conference centre.

The NOLC will bring together, community leaders, builders, industry executives and youth leaders from different sectors to engage in discussions, share information, build partnerships and create a network encompassing all sectors represented at the conference.

The NOLC will welcome a series of guest speakers and host panel discussions focusing on business, health care, education, social services, technology, economic development and mining sectors.

Among the speakers who have confirmed their participation are: Dr. Roger Strasser, dean of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine; Victoria Lennox, co-founder and CEO of Start-Up Canada; Bruce Sprague, Canadian Mining and Metals Sector Leader for Ernst & Young; and Martin Bayer, chair of the Northern Policy Institute.

“The Northern Ontario Leadership Conference is an exciting new event that will bring together individuals who have been, and must continue to be, leaders in different sectors and from different parts of the region,” said Timmins Mayor Tom Laughren of Timmins, who is chair of the NOLC said.
