Timmins welder-fabricator hiring, expanding operations

DJB Mining Products lands $606,827 in federal funds

A Timmins mining supplier is expanding operations, with the expectation of creating up to 17 new skilled positions in the process.

On March 2, FedNor announced a repayable contribution of $606,827 for DJB Mining Products.

Launched in 2010 by Daniel Brunet, DJB specializes in custom welding and fabrication services, mobile and in-house alignment boring, bucket repairs and rebuilds, heavy equipment repairs, and customized tractors.

To help meet growing demand for its services, DJB is using the funds to purchase new equipment and invest in facility upgrades.

“We would like to thank FedNor and the Government of Canada for their investment in our operation, our people and our company’s future,” Brunet said in a March 2 news release.

“With our new equipment, we are aiming to increase production by 30 per cent. We now employ 30 people full-time and look forward to increasing sales outside of Northern Ontario.”

The company, which is celebrating a decade in business, services clients in Northern Ontario, British Columbia, northern Québec, Newfoundland and Labrador.
