The Timmins Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2014 Nova Business Excellence Awards.

The awards acknowledge entrepreneurial achievement in 14 categories. A gala recognizing the winners will be held on May 22 at the McIntyre Arena in Timmins.

“Every year, the Nova Awards shine a spotlight on Timmins’ best and brightest entrepreneurs, who are some of the most knowledgeable in the world,” chamber president Phil Barton said in a release. “But before they can be celebrated, they have to be nominated. If you know of an outstanding business worthy of a Nova Award, go online, fill out the form, and tell us what makes them special.”

Categories include business contribution to the community (one to 30 employees and more than 31 employees), service excellence, new business, innovation achievement, young entrepreneur, best place to work, business of the year (one to five employees, six to 49 employees, and more than 50 employees), non-profit organization, environmental excellence, technology, and Aboriginal partnership.

Nomination packages will be made available online at http://tinyurl.com/NovaAwards2014. Nominations will be accepted until March 21, and the finalists will be notified prior to April 4.

Tickets for the Nova Awards will go on sale Feb. 10.
