NORCAT relocates in Timmins

Training site now operates out of stand-alone facility

NORCAT officially marked the grand opening of its new location in Timmins on June 5.

The innovation centre – a satellite location for the Sudbury-based organization – relocated from its former space at Collège Boréal to a stand-alone site in the city’s former Chamber of Commerce building.

The event took place during the 2019 Canadian Mining Expo, which annually draws thousands to Timmins to learn about trends and innovation in mining, network, and partake in a variety of industry-related activities.

NORCAT opened the Timmins location in 2014 to be closer to clients it serves in the region.

The organization offers health and safety training and programing to industry clients, including hands-on classroom work, e-learning, and simulation training using state-of-the-art simulation equipment.

NORCAT Timmins can also develop custom programming for mine sites and deliver contract and orientation training for companies.
