A recently transplanted mining exploration company has begun diamond drilling on one of its newly acquired properties in the Timmins area. Liberty Mineral Exploration began drilling in early February on their McWatters property, one of 11 the company bought in December. Liberty had moved its operations from the Yukon last year to Ontario, setting up a Toronto corporate office and establishing a Timmins field office. With some of the properties known to contain nickel deposits, the drilling program is to confirm earlier tests and look for platinum-group metals. The company plans to commence drilling on its other properties once the weather improves and additional funding is generated.
