A paper mill training program has been launched in Kapuskasing by Collège Boréal in response to the needs of the local forestry industry.
The main campus is located in Sudbury, and each satellite campus is expected to develop unique courses that pertain to that specific area, an official with the college says.
The college offers a mechanical harvesting operator course and a heavy equipment operator class focusing on building bush roads. Their goal is to provide students with all the necessary training needed to work in the forestry sector.
