Thunder Bay businessman Ian McCormack was elected board chair of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) at the organization’s annual general meeting in Sault Ste. Marie.

McCormack is a registered professional forester and director of government and aboriginal affairs for Tetra Tech. He is a member of the company’s executive leadership team for its Canadian mining practice.

"Ian will be a tremendous asset to the businesses in Ontario as Chair of the OCC board,” said Thunder Bay chamber president Charla Robinson. “His connection to Thunder Bay and northwestern Ontario will serve to broaden the perspective at the OCC board table.“

“The chamber of commerce movement has always inspired me,” said McCormick, who’s served on the Thunder Bay chamber board for a decade.

“One of the most outstanding roles of the Chamber network is to help develop leaders and business capacity in the communities.”
