Thunder Bay driller nominated for award

Thunder Bay entrepreneur Barb Courte has been nominated for an RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award . Courte was named a finalist for the HKMB HUB Impact Award and the only one of the 18 finalists to hail from Northern Ontario.

Thunder Bay entrepreneur Barb Courte has been nominated for an RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award.

Courte was named a finalist for the HKMB HUB Impact Award and the only one of the 18 finalists to hail from Northern Ontario. Courte is the president of North Star Drilling and Cobra Drilling.

The national awards recognize the country’s leading female entrepreneurs. The awards are an initiative of Women of Influence Inc., which is dedicated to advancing and fulfilling the needs of Canadian women in business.

“It’s a privilege to recognize and celebrate the successes and achievements of this group of outstanding Canadian women entrepreneurs,” says Andrea Bolger, executive vice president, Business Financial Services, RBC.  “Their passion, vision and commitment are second to none, and are truly inspirational to current and aspiring entrepreneurs.” 

Winners will be named on Nov. 27 at a gala in Toronto.
