Karen Lewis has been appointed interim CEO of the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission.
The board of directors appointed Lewis, the city's director of corporate communications and strategic initiatives, replaces Steve Demmings, who retired earlier this spring.
“Karen’s strong communications, leadership and management skills will be an asset to the CEDC,” said board chairman Paul Inksetter. “We are very fortunate to have her join our team on an interim basis.”
Lewis was the lead facilitator in the startup of the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) in 2006 to 2007 from the development of the model through to the search for the founding CEO.
