Students have opportunity to showcase entrepreneurial talents (2/02)

A business plan competition for high school students know as bizDreams 2002 is under way in Thunder Bay. The competition will provide students between the ages of 14 and 20 with an opportunity to showcase their business and entrepreneurial talents.

A business plan competition for high school students know as bizDreams 2002 is under way in Thunder Bay. The competition will provide students between the ages of 14 and 20 with an opportunity to showcase their business and entrepreneurial talents.

The Thunder Bay and Area Business Self-Help Office and Development Thunder Bay are providing support and advice. A panel of judges comprised of local business owners and economic development officers will evaluate each business plan.

The first-place winner will receive a $1,000 cash award and will then be eligible to compete at the Northern Ontario Regional Business Plan Competition. Students who have a viable idea for a summer business can submit their plan to the ‘Summer Company’ competition as well. Chosen applicants are eligible to receive an award of up to $3,000 to start their own summer business.
