Abitibi-Consolidated Inc. is expected to have its paper mill in Kenora in full operation by March 10. The mill was shutdown for seven weeks after a granite roller exploded on the No. 10 paper machine. Damage estimates have not been revealed, but officials with the company say they were over a million dollars. The paper machine has been modified to ensure a similar accident will not happen again. The granite roll has been replaced with a ceramic roll made of steel.

During March and April the mill will run full out, but may experience some downtime after that, depending on the performance of the economy, company officials say.
