The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association (NOMA) is losing its executive director.

Charla Robinson is leaving to move over to the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce to serve as its new president, effective April 29.

She replaces Harold Wilson, who left to run as a Conservative candidate in the next provincial election.

“The NOMA Board of Directors have accepted with regret the resignation of Charla Robinson as NOMA Executive Director,” said NOMA president Ron Nelson, mayor of O'Connor Township.

“Charla has been key to NOMA’s success over the past three years. Her leadership in the development and implementation of our strategic plan has strengthened the organization and our advocacy efforts towards the betterment of our communities. The relationships she has developed through her time with NOMA will serve her well in her new role with the Chamber. We wish her all the best.”

“Charla brings a wealth of experience in advocacy and government relations that will serve the membership well in ensuring that the “voice of business” is heard by all three orders of government,” said Ed Schmidtke, Chair of the Board for the Chamber of Commerce.

Robinson previously served as a chief of staff for a member of parliament and had worked for the chamber is membership services.
