Thunder Bay's Lakehead University now offers its business leadership program to outlying communities through videoconferencing technology.
Residents in Terrace Bay and Marathon can now partake in the part-time certificate program on Friday mornings.
University business faculty are negotiating with Canadian companies for a similar kind of program, believing the program's future is through technology via Lakehead's Advanced Technology and Academic Centre.
Upon its 2003 opening, the centre will contain 15 smart classrooms wired to integrate computer, multimedia and videoconferencing technologies.
