Weyerhaeuser Inc.’s three forest lands in northwestern Ontario have been certified to the ISO Environmental Management System standard.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO 14001) designation recognizes organizations that have systems in place to manage the environmental aspects of their activities, products and services. The forests include the Trout Lake Forest near Ear Falls, the Wabigoon Forest near Dryden and the Superior Forest near Wawa.
More than 500 company employees and contractors were trained and tested on the ISO 14001 system and its operational requirements.
